The Raspberry Jive is a sweet and savory cocktail. Sure, it takes an extra 15 seconds, but presentation when you are paying $12 per drink is important. A really great garnish never hurts either. I have to admit, a great cocktail is largely dependent not only on the ingredients but the presentation as well. It definitely had t he bourbon in there, but I did not really taste the ginger, and naturally ice tea would barely add any flavor. The charred lemon was the star here, otherwise I was not all impressed. Not sure what that stands for, but its a bourbon drink with ginger liqueur, iced tea, sugar and charred lemon. For me it was tasty but a bit weak, which is perfect for someone who wants a lighter cocktail. She is not a drinker and does not even like the taste of alcohol, so if she decided to make it her own, you know it had to be good. Its no wonder that my fiancee snatched this up from me. I am a big fan of using bitters in any cocktail. Since I never really drink vodka, its really good to see it paired up with my favorites like Aperol, Lillet Blanc, cranberry juice, ginger liqueur, spiced syrup and orange bitters. So, this is where I start, with the cocktails. What was particularly interesting was their cocktail menu. They also bring a quarter loaf of what tastes like sourdough bread, and its almost impossible to refrain from eating it all though you know so many other delicious items are coming. Its a huge bowl of assorted olives that are absolutely delicious. If you love olives, the wood fired olives with orange zest is great for everyone at the table. Today it is a wood-fired pizza place with a great menu of many eclectic Italian dishes. Later it was a Spaniard restaurant and quite frankly, the food was so inconsistent I am very surprised it lasted more than 10 years. And yes, I said re-transformed, because it was first a Polynesian restaurant from the last few days of that Tiki actually made it into the 1980s. So when I saw one of my former favorite restaurants completely re-transformed, it definitely sparked my interest. Pizza has become an abused and over-used culinary attraction these days. Both the Burrata & Bader Sting pies that we tried were cooked to perfection. We opted to try two of the pizzas, but easily could have tried a lot of other things on the menu as well. Plenty of drink options as well if that's your thing. Each meal comes with complimentary bread which is always a plus! (every italian/pizza place should give complimentary bread!!) Wood stack's bread was damn good too, I could have gone for some more if itMenu is a good size - not too large not too small. Bar area in the middle, and if you choose to sit in this area you have a view of the kitchen and pizza oven. Kind of cozy despite being large and open. Ambiance inside is nice, not too dressy and not too causal. The parking lot is a bit tight, but they offer free valet as an option. I would definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time because it does seem like it gets very busy here despite the place being fairly large. Obviously 46 is loaded with places to eat but I personally feel like Wood Stack stands out as one of the best in the area.Visited on a Saturday evening, had made a reservation for 7PM. If I worked nearby this would be a go to spot for lunch. Located in a convenient spot on route 46 near a lot of corporate buildings.
